For the last five years or so, I have been saving all my emails to cd, which comes in handy. A couple of times I was looking for an old email for my genealogy search and found a printed email from two years ago, but it was missing a page. It had the date on it so I tracked down the cd and started to look for it. But I also had to go through 50 emails from that date.

Using this program, I typed in a word from my email that was in the text of it. I did a search through the whole cd and it found my word in over 12 different text files, plus in my gedcom file. After it finds the text, you can open it up using the built in viewer (it loads web pages as text, not in a browser).

I use Pegasus as my email client and it saves every email as a .cmn file, with this program all you have to do is tell it where the files are and what word you are looking for. It found it, it is really fast for searching. I don't know if this will work with Outlook files though.

These are some than can be searched through : txt, csv, htm, html, shm, shtm, shtml, css, js, xml, asp, aspx, pas, dpr, dpk, dof, cfg, dsk. It even found stuff in my Ask Sam files (since it saves them as text also)

With the regular search of most PC computers, it only lets you look at the filename, but with this little program, you can search for text INSIDE of a text file.

You can download a 30 day trial of this program at the website.
