On website it is: www.laplink.com
$ 129.95 US funds for a physical box (manual is on CD) and $109.95 to download the software.

I have seen this on many Canadian computer web sites to purchase also.

Requirements are : Windows 98 SE, 2000, ME and XP, 133 MHz or higher Pentium 64 MB. RAM, optional Sound card for chat. 30 meg. Hard drive space.

This software has been out for many years, I remember one place I was working was using the DOS version (everyone remember what DOS was?). This is used when you want to transfer files between computers.

There is a USB cable that comes with the software, it is USB 2.0. My problem was that my host computer has USB 2.0 and the laptop I was using only had the slower 1.1. After a brief talk with a live person on their website, he had me download a driver that would let me use my USB on my host computer. About half an hour later, with Laplink running on both systems, I was transferring files using the cable. I tried with a 40 meg. file, it took three minutes to transfer between computers, so that part worked well. I also tried sending my Podcast files from my laptop to my main computer, it took over 20 minutes to send 822 meg., it also depends on the speed on both computers (remember I am using the USB 1.1 speed to USB 2)

You can also transfer files to other Laplink computers using the Internet. Both computers have to be listed as users on the Laplink website. When you register the program, you have a year's trial of Laplink Internet, which will allow you to send and receive your files through the Internet. After the year is up, you have to pay to continue using the Internet feature.

You can send text and graphic files to another printer while using Laplink and also text and voice chat with other Laplink users. If you have XP Professional, you can use Remote Control and Remote Desktop.

This is an excellent program for transferring files from one computer to another, either locally or through the Internet. You are allowed to have the software on three computers so you can transfer files. The company also has PCMOVER and LAPLINK EVERYWHERE.
